Food trucks have been getting a ton of buzz lately and I finally made it out to try one of the pioneers - the legendary Kogi Truck. They combine Korean and Mexican fare. I had the beef and the spicy pork tacos. Both were delicious. They grilled up spicy meat in the Korean tradition, top with kim chi and pickled vegetables and then wrapped it all up in a corn tortilla. Delish!
Took one of my daughter's here for a daddy/daughter breakfast date and had a great time. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the salmon hash - chunks of salmon cooked with potatoes, peppers and onions. My daughter had the french toast, eggs, and bacon. Yummy as well!
Pink's is legendary in Los Angeles. A must visit for all. Great hot dogs and chili fries! Nice "snap" on the dogs.
Rock'n Fish is a really enjoyable place for dinner. I had the Kapalua Ribeye. Delicious!
Went back for Mother's Day this year. We had a great time. There were a number of Mother's Day special events: spa facials and hand massages, card creation station, and special Mother's day baskets (these had to be ordered ahead of time). There was even a yoga class for the whole family - I think the kids enjoyed this the most. The lone restaurant is managed by Wolfgang Puck's company. The chicken fingers and lemonade were delicious. The burger was ok. A fun time had by all.
Took the kids here for a late breakfast on Sunday morning. The place was packed. Awesome hawaiian bread french toast - delicious! The kids couldn't get enough. Good food - large portions. They also have a bakery in the restaurant with all kinds of sweet Hawaiian bread, muffins, cakes, pies, and doughnuts.
The Garlic Chicken is awesome here. The Cuban Pork is also very good. The entrees come with a huge serving of rice and black beans and fried plantains. Delicious! My kids love the rice and the black beans. The chicken and pork are pretty strong so they don't like that as much.
We went to this parade again this year. It was a great time - very festive and alot of energy. Maybe even more people than last year!
This is a fun park for kids and adults alike. There is an enclosed play area with swings, a merry go round, and climbing structures. Off to one side is a series of stairs that you can climb to get to the top of the hill and featured in the center of the park is a huge sand dune. The sand dune is divided into two sections. On the left if you are looking up the dune, is the children's recreation area and on the right is the adult workout area. Unfortunately on August 14, 2009, the city closed the dune portion of the park because of maintenance issues and the increased traffic caused by the popularity of the dune. We hope the city is able to open the dune again soon....
This is a terrific park in the middle of Manhattan Beach. There are little league baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, a fenced off dog run, and two play areas for kids. There are also knarly old oak trees that are perfect for kids to climb on. Bbq grills and picnic tables abound. Love this park!
